The City of Hollywood is an authorized provider of American Red Cross professional certification courses. Each course follows the American Red Cross curriculum and standards. Certification is issued upon successful completion of the course.

CPR/AED + First Aid Training


Red Cross First Aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and AED (automated external defibrillator) training and certification meets the needs of workplace responders, professional rescuers school staffs, professional responders and healthcare providers, as well as the general public. We offer both certified and non-certified training options. Certification is issued upon successful completion.

COURSE LENGTH: 2 - 5 hours, pending on course option
COURSE DESCRIPTION:

  • CPR/AED: Learn how to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies in adults, including the use of automated external defibrillators (AED). Adult and infant/child CPR options available.
  • First Aid: Learn how to respond to common first aid emergencies, including burns; cuts; head, neck and back injuries and more. Pediatric option available.

Lifeguard Training


Interested in a great summer job or challenging career as a professional lifeguard? With hands-on practice you’ll learn teamwork, water and dryland rescues and surveillance skills, CPR/AED + First Aid and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard. Successful completion results in a 2-year certification as a Lifeguard & Professional Level CPR/AED + First Aid.

  • Blended Learning course format 19 hours, 30 minutes in-person/7 hours 30 minutes online (27 hours).
