Low Nutrient Landscaping Webinar
Monday, February 1st
To have a beautiful landscape we often think we need to load it with fertilizer and other inputs. This isn't actually true, and overusing fertilizer impacts local estuarine and marine ecosystem health. With the 2020 fish kill in Biscayne Bay, we hope that all our residents take some time to learn about landscaping in ways that minimize these impacts. Student volunteer hours are available for those who attend and participate. Panelists: Lorna Bravo, Broward County Extension/UF IFAS; Megan Kelley, Garden of Growth; Moderator: Hallandale Beach Commissioner Sabrina Javellana. This and all other Ocean Day events were made possible through sponsorship from Hazen, Pinnacle Ecological Inc, Nova Southeastern University Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography, the National Park Conservation Association, and Pelican Harbor Seabird Station.
